Pasture Rangeland Forage (PRF) Insurance Nevada
As the August/September interval comes to a close we are now able to see how the program is helping farmers and ranchers this year. The majority of producers have their Nevada Pasture Rangeland and Forage Coverage in the summer months, typically covering the interval of Jun/Jul, Jul/Aug and Aug/Sep. These are crucial months for production and if their is a lack of precipitation they may have to pull the cattle of sooner and incur additional cost for feeding. The PRF program is designed to pay farmers and ranchers for the lack of precipitation. This year generally speaking in the Western United States has been drier than normal. Most summer intervals have been below average precipitation and claims are now being paid. Here are some highlights of the Pasture Rangeland and Forage Program:
In 2020 there were 25,121,615 acres enrolled in PRF Program in Nevada! The effectiveness of the program shows with the amount of acres now signed up. So far there have been $72,900,600 in claims paid and that is only through the Jun/Jul intervals for the year. If you have more questions or to ask about enrolling contact us.
