Pasture Rangeland Forage (PRF) Insurance, Klamath County Oregon
Most everyone knows that this has been a drought year in Klamath County. If you are within the irrigated project it has been a struggle to get through the year. If you aren't within the irrigated project, it has been just as much of a challenge with the continued hot dry weather. Ranchers in Klamath County face the challenge of having to gather earlier and incur additional feed costs sooner due to the lack of precipitation. The PRF program helps pay for a lack of rainfall and was created to help offset some of that. Across Klamath County this year we have seen with the Pasture Rangeland Forage program the grids have consistently reflected the drought conditions with below average precipitation and indemnities due to producers. PRF has been helping producers and it is a straightforward option for those with haying or grazing acres. Here is some more information on PRF:
In 2020 the Risk Management Agency is reporting that there were 284,846 acres enrolled in the PRF program in Klamath County. The popularity of the program is proving its effectiveness in helping cattle ranchers and hay producers. If you have any questions or to ask about enrolling contact us.
